WOAI in P3D V2

Recommended Posts

Trying to get WOAI to work in V2... would anyone know how to get the packages installed using the WOAI installer?

Thanks!

Not sure how that would work, maybe the Estonia Migrator?

Could install in fsx or fs9 and just move the models and traffic files over to v2.

Installation is the same as installing in the 1.4 version. If you have FSX installed, then install in FSX and copy over to P3D. If you don't have FSX installed use the migrator.

WOAI works well in PD3 2.0

Ah...thanks for the tips on the migrator (I'm a P3D newbie, so this is a bit of a learning experience).

Also really glad to hear WOAI works well...

Found a workaround to get the WOAI installer working with P3D...!

Just copied fsx.exe to my P3D folder, then pointed the path in the installer to the executable - all traffic bgls and packages installed correctly (using the multi-package install)  B)

Great tip Dylan.

Also make sure in windows security options to allow full control for standard Users in the P3D main folder. Otherwise the program will stop because it would need admin access approval.

No worries Kyle - and good info on the folder security settings.

p.s. just saw was added to the "compatibility list"! Thanks Bill :drinks:

Would simply creating a file in notepad called FSX.exe also work I wonder?

This.

I don't have FSX installed, I haven't for quite a while, to be honest, and I was wondering if I could name any random thing FSX.exe and have it work.

I don't know if there are any ramifications to asking someone for their .exe file, are there?

No harm in trying Aamir. Give it a shot and maybe try it with a single package - if you end up with the appropriate bgl entry in the scenery/world/scenery folder, and the aircraft packages in the simobjects/airplanes folder, then it worked!

Well, I guess I'll give it a shot in a bit.
