vram is video ram, or the amount on memory on your gfx card. 660 2gb card= 2gb vram.

It's tempting...especially at its present price point, but having been vexed by Radeon-related squirreliness and seemingly artificial performance bottlenecks in FSX (e.g. FSAA in clouds) for the past 3 years, I feel better embracing nVidia going forward. It seems to be the card of choice for flight simulator and by LM. It's likely what their devs are testing with (at least some of the posts in their forums seem to indicate a preference).

 Price should not be the only deciding factor, the MS franchise has been traditionally working  precariously  with AMD chips+drivers over the years if I believe numerous posts.

I already read at least one report form an AMD-card owner that performance dropped in clouds like in FSX...? The coming weekend someone I know on another forum will install P3D 2.0 on his PC with the R9 290X installed. I think I will wait until I know how it went before I order something.
