P3D 2.0 : Airbus X Extended, snowy departure from USSS

Featured Replies

These weren't 'staged' screenshots;  they're just spontanous points where I hit the 'V' key during the departure.

I had really heavy weather & clouds throughout and P3D2 just was not phased in the slightest.

and the windscreen dry as a bone, hopefully they can add that in a later version, i didn't like the heavy rain, looks too much like the poor heavy white line from fsx in heavy rain

I used the FS Estonia Migration Tool.   It was a complete non-event.  Just set the Migration Tool to "virtual FSX mode" then run the Airbus installer completely as normal.  Job done. The Airbus functions perfectly, but you cannot go from window to full screen with the Airbus loaded*; (it will crash) so you have to go to full screen with a different ac loaded, then change over to the Airbus.

*The issue is caused by Aerosoft's asc.dll and they are fixing it as we speak.

Nice and fluid Dave?

Unprecedentedly smooth for my rig! ....... Literally not had such a smooth, solid, stable flight sim experience.

Yes windscreen effects would be good.  If you mean about the rain on my pic;  none of that is rain, it's all snow.   Haven't seen the rain in P3D2 yet but some people are reporting a large FPS drop with the rain.   The snow has no FPS drop on my system.

Thank you. I bought that tool yesterday...

One thing, to make sure you don't get caught out Manny ........ after you turn on "virtual FSX mode" and then run the Airbus Extended's installer, you actually have to select FSX in the install path option of the installer, not Prepar3d.

That is because the P3D path option in the current Airbus installer in only for v1.4, whereas selecting FSX uses the migration tool and installs into P3D v2.0.
