Cloud Shadows

I saw a recent post (titled "Is this what next?" http://forum.avsim.net/topic/427995-is-this-what-next/ ) that had a video of cloud shadows. Apparently LM is working on it but it didn't make it into v2.0. Nevertheless, the post indicated that cloud shadows could be forced by the following CFG tweaks:

 

CLOUD_SHADOWS_CAST=1

TERRAIN_SHADOWS_RECEIVE = 1

 

So, I tried this out of curiosity just to see what it looks like and couldn't get any cloud shadows. Has anyone successfully tested this out? Besides the CFG tweaks are there other settings required?

I do not have P3D yet, will be getting a new computer build this week though, but here is a link to a discussion at the ftx site.  Perhaps you can get some further information there.  The only thing that I can think of is to assure you have your terrain set to receive shadows, but I would assume you have that set.

I plan on checking this out as soon as my new system comes in.  That video in the thread that you mention looks great, even though LM needs to refine the rendering, but still excited for the feature once it is ready for prime time.

hello I'm the one who has done that, unless that setting and this enabled teselation and shadows to a minimum there is nothing more. sorry but my English is google translator
