texture size

Recommended Posts

Ok, I am seeing many posts where the poster speaks of using 4096 or 2048 textures, but many of the posts that mention the use of these textures, do not mention that they are actually have these texture sizes installed. i.e. via rex clouds or others. I do not believe that the default textures used in p3d as an example, are availble in the larger texture size,s and for the most part, are 1024. Just curious as some seem to think that they are benefitting from turning up the texture size, even though those sizes are not available.

I think I started when I installed 4096 textures for the CS Super MD-80 Pro which had McPhat add ons that were done in the resolution.  Since I have yet to have an OOM in either FSX nor P3D I haven't changed back.
