What Carenado planes work with P3Dv2?

Recommended Posts

Guest

Once developers start using the P3Dv2 SDK, aircraft models (exterior and interior) will no longer be backwards compatible with FSX/A or P3Dv1.x... The compiled models are very much different since a lot of new features are baked into the model files.

Does this at the same time mean that those dedicated P3D 2.0 planes would work BETTER with P3D 2,0?

I would expect so, if the add-on makers are implementing features in a way that the software is designed to work rather than simply exploiting flaws or features that let them do things unanticipated by the software designers.

I'm really interested in seeing that P3Dv2-only P-3C Orion.

Hopefully I'll be able to answer this question for myself next week, as I intend to take one of the existing models from Milviz and recompile both models using the P3Dv2 SDK so I can make an in situ comparison.

Great! Looking forward to your report!

I have the Carenado B200 installed in P3D2; it seems to function as intended.

That said, the gamma issues in P3D make the panel dark enough to significantly impact readability, and the HSI compass dial, which is barely readable in FSX, is too fuzzy to read with P3D's current AA problems unless you zoom in close.

Seriously debating a Flight1 refund on this one.
