Best FSX Add-ons 2013

Recommended Posts

I really haven't bought that much stuff this year, but...

Orbx SAK

RealAir Duke v2

Honorable mentions have to go to:

ASN - haven't purchased yet, but 3 days into the trial and I've done nothing but grin.

ForeFlight - This is far and away my best sim purchase of 2013. even though it's a real world flying app.  With the right piece it interfaces to FSX quite well for GPS input.  It's a flight planning, briefing, charts, wx, gps overlays, etc. tool for iPad (NA charts only).  The tool is free and charts are available for trial for 30 days.  It's the chart subscriptions that are <cough> real-world priced, but again...  Wish something like this had been available when I was still actively flying.

I wish i could use Foreflight but I only fly in Europe.

Yep, it's NA (US and Canada) only.

I'd like to add FTX SCO: It's a fantastic ORBX region and its high quality was kind of unexpected after all the bashing the development team had to take for their FTX ENG.

Wonderful country

My list:

PMDG777

PFPX

ASN (once my trial runs out it will definitely be purchased)

SteveFSX's DX10 Fixer

Let's hope for more of the same in 2014!

The A2A 172 is really wonderful. That is my top pick.

Then the new Aerosoft Twin Otter, which is also very, very nice.

I don't know if anything ever will top FTX Global. The best addon I've used. It's how FSX should have looked from day one.

Simmerhead - Making the virtual skies unsafe since 1987!

Ditto, Ditto, Ditto.

Also SweetFX and Plan-G (even though Plan-G is an older freeware product, I just downloaded it several months ago.

I love these threads.  Completely predictable, but I love them all the same. ^_^

1st place: FTX Global.  It changes the feel of everywhere I fly to a point where it has to be the top spot for me.

2nd place: (tie) A2A C172, AS Twin Otter Extended, Majestic Q400

5th place: (tie) Sibwings An-2, Cera Sim UH-60, Dino's T-45C, Milviz 732

There's a whole lot of other stuff that I could probably toss in there.  This year has been altogether too hard on my wallet...

Stuff that I'm looking forward to in 2014:

- FTX Vector & LC

- AS F-14A

- AS / DA CRJ

- AS EE Lightning

- Milviz Bell 407

- Ant's T-28 B/C (I know it's out now, but it'll be 2014 before I can afford to buy it!)

I'm also being cautiously hopeful that A2A might just manage to squeak out the F-104 sometime in 2014... who knows!

Milviz Person.
