FSX menu slow to load?

If I click on just about anything it takes a couple of minutes before I am able to click on anything. Is there something I can do to speed it up?

Defragging your hard drive might help; unless your using a SSD drive.

Are you running anything that is running alongside FSX like Traffic, weather or cameras?

I got this. Reinstalled everything and monitered when it started to happen again, and it kicked in just after I installed Horizon's VFR scenery packs for Scotland. Not sure if there is a correletion. I'll be defragging tonight, anyway, since I've just completed the grand reinstall. 

 

I'm still open to suggestions though!

I've seen this happen with an over taxed system.  Try turning the settings down a bit and see if that fixes it.

 

Next thing to try is backup your fsx.cfg and let fsx build a new one.

Sorry to jump on the thread ... !  I'll try dialling back a bit, I have all my sliders set to the Max, which doesn't affect flight performance -
