Razbam Metroliner Released

Recommended Posts

Bjoern I really love the mods you've made for the Metroliner but I'm not sure the GPU works for me... I did a test where I turned the plane on with every light, avionic and heater on with the external power enabled but the batteries are still draining. I followed the installation instructions to the letter, I'm not sure what I could've done wrong?

[Auxiliary Power Unit]

available = 1

Yes, at the very bottom of the Aircraft.cfg in the RAZBAM_MetrolinerIII folder

Ran a test, but can't confirm your findings. If I load the aircraft, switch on the battery and put some load on the bus, I see the voltage decrease. If I connect the GPU, I see the voltage increase back to 28V.

As the Metro uses the FSX APU logic (does not use fuel and does not generate heat) as a GPU stand-in, you have to take the spin-up time for the APU into account. APU start takes a few seconds and is done automatically every time the plane is loaded. The "STBY POWER" button actually only toggles the connection of the APU generator to the aircraft's systems.

Just tried exactly that and voltage still drains with standby power active. Now sure whats causing this...

Things to check:

- Last revision August 8th, 2015

- Mods installed into all panel folders or FSX\Gauges

- GPU module in the gauge is enabled

- Edit:

I think I can reproduce your problem now. The automatic APU spool-up after starting FSX, loading the Metro and starting a flight does not seem to work. The aircraft has to be reloaded to make it work.

- Edit 2:

Found a disgustingly simple fix. Stand by.

The new revision is up. Links:

Old users:

Read the documentation parts marked in pink. Replace "RM3_Custom_BK.xml".

Change the name of the sound gauge in the panel.cfg files from "dsd_fsx_xml_sound.gau" to "RM3_dsd_xml_sound.gau" and copy the .gau file from the "Gauges" folder into "FSX\Gauges". The sound gauge file name change was necessary to avoid other add-ons accidentially overwriting it with older versions. The sound gauge will now be out of harm's way.

New users:

Read the manual.

You're welcome, guys.

Thanks Bjoern, reloading the aircraft fixed it

Try the update. It should work without a reload now.

Indeed it works on first load now, thanks!

Just one thing though... I'm using Lzamm's EHSI and in the readme you say to "only change the name of the .ini file from

"RM3_CockpitSounds_BK.ini" to "BK_LZ_merge.ini"

Do you mean to rename the ini file itself or to change it in the panels ini?

Also, when using switch sounds mod, there is an annoying repetitive "clicking" when using the trim and it clashes with the other trim beep sound. Is there a way to remove that clicking?

Thanks again for all your work and help!

In the panel.cfg.

That clicking isn't annoying, it's just aural feedback that the trim is being employed for those who don't like the annoying beeping of the original thing.

In RM3_CockpitSounds_BK.xml, find "Trigger id="32"" and "Trigger id="33"" and comment out the entire section as shown below. No more clicks.

<!-- Trigger id="32">
<KeyEvent>ELEV_TRIM_DN</KeyEvent>
<Script>
1 (>L:DSD_Battery_Sw,number)
 </Script>
</Trigger>
<Trigger id="33">
<KeyEvent>ELEV_TRIM_UP</KeyEvent>
<Script>
1 (>L:DSD_Battery_Sw,number)
</Script>
</Trigger -->

Thanks Bjoern, your amazing ;)

Sorry about the "annoying" comment, I just thought it clashed with the beeping sound...
