Just out of curiosity, how exactly did you get to McMurdo? Visiting Antarctica is actually on my bucket list and I have no idea how someone can pay them a visit.
December 22, 201312 yr I was down there in 2003 on an icebreaker. If you're looking to get down there, there are a couple options. There are cruises that head down there (not sure if they actually send people ashore at McMurdo). Yeah! but there was no station...only a tree. There are animations: blowing snow on the ice runway, snow removal machines and volcano steam from the crater. HLJAMES
