Did you continue on to South Pole Station?

 

Just out of curiosity, how exactly did you get to McMurdo? Visiting Antarctica is actually on my bucket list and I have no idea how someone can pay them a visit.

I was down there in 2003 on an icebreaker.

 

If you're looking to get down there, there are a couple options. There are cruises that head down there (not sure if they actually send people ashore at McMurdo). Also iirc, NSF does advertise for seasonal workers down there in support of the science activities.

Did you continue on to South Pole Station?

Yeah! but there was no station...only a tree.

There are animations: blowing snow on the ice runway, snow removal machines and volcano steam from the crater.
