Amazing video lecture on flight dynamics -using quadcopters

Recommended Posts

I watched this video yesterday and thought I'd share it on the Hangar.  It makes for an amazing, entertaining and relaxing xmas lecture on flight dynamics and robotics.

(Apologies if you've seen it before).

Happy Xmas

I first looked at the length (> 16 minutes) and thought I'd just watch the first minute or so to see what it's all about...

I was fascinated by the demonstration! This is so cool! Thanks for sharing it with us. B)

Currently, the algorithms induce yaw, pitch, roll, and acceleration with time as the variable.  Imaging what could happen if time were used as a constant algorithm, and dimension was used as the variable.  I have a headache.

A revolution is brewing with the advent of these machines- the world will be forever altered!

Two applications come quickly to mind-

Searching for lost hikers and bank holdups!

What is the power/energy source that allows such prolonged flight capability?

And people thought satellite imaging was invasive !!

Cheers guys. I'm glad you all enjoyed it.

A revolution is brewing with the advent of these machines......

Yes agreed.  As well as being a life-saving tool for the emegency services etc, these drones are also being used by news agencies and land surveyors etc;  and of course Amazon stated a few months' ago about plans to deliver parcels direct to customers' doors using drones ..although personally I think they'd have to reduce the amount and size of their packaging to achieve any sort of lift-off ;0)

Currently, the algorithms induce yaw, pitch, roll, and acceleration with time as the variable.  Imaging what could happen if time were used as a constant algorithm, and dimension was used as the variable.....

Am I right in thinking that under those circumstances, instead of the drone getting smaller and smaller as it travelled away from the operator..it would in fact become larger and larger.  Now I have a headache as well ;-)

Turkey Shoot!

The drone that didn't get away.....
