Upgrading my system ..will it help FSX?

After a long absence I am starting FSX again.  I know my system is kind of old now, but my understanding is that FSX is not going to take advantage of current advances in GPU and CPU.  Nevertheless,  I was wondering if any upgrade to any components of my system will give me extra performance in FPS.  

 

 

 

i7 920 Bloomfield.   OC'd to 3.8ghz,

12 MB of Triple Channel Memory  8 8 8 24

NVIDIA   GTX275

Windows 7 64bit

Honestly, your system isn't that bad.  If anything, a GPU upgrade might benefit you the most, in my opinion, which might help a bit with FPS and smoothness if you're using high end add-ons like REX textures direct and such other 4096 textures.  I'm assuming that you meant 12 GB of ram and not mb,    Before you start upgrading, you might want to take a look at the AVSIM Basic FSX/P3D Configuration Guide and the Software & Hardware Guide for FSX, if you haven't already.
