January 11, 201412 yr There is in this whole 'one sim versus another' thing it strikes me, an amazing paradox. Aeroplanes and flight since the days of the Wright brothers at Kittyhawk have been about rapid development, pushing the boundaries, progress, and yet simulating them we have a platform in FSX which is completely dead in the water and now approaching ten years out of date. In short an anachronism ... i have difficulty reconciling the idea of allegiance to such a simulation in a world in which progress plays such a crucial part ...
January 11, 201412 yr I have given away two graphics cards in the past......one to a flight simmer (ATi Radeon 9800 Pro) and one to a sim racer (Nvidia GeForce 7600GT). The Radeon 9800 Pro was sent to someone who had been helpful to me in some way (I can't remember the details), and the 7600GT was sent to a person that I regularly raced against online in GT Legends, and whose (then) current graphics card had expired. No charge for either of them. I certainly did not have a huge amount of disposable income (and still don't), but it's just nice to do something like that for someone every now and again.
