SATA3 HDD versus SATA 3 SSD--is it primarily seek time that differs?

What was the answer?

 

The SATA III designation only describes the maximum bus transfer rate, and has nothing to do w/ the HDD's inherent I/O capabilities, and so is a bit of marketing hype, or at least tells lets the user know they can be connected to a 6Gbs/sec port.   SSD's still way way outperform HDDs in terms of not only seek time (huge difference) as well as read/write rates.

 

I probably should have posted this answer for others so thanks Ryan for reminding me!
