Hello all, contrary to what this looks like, I did do my research and was adamant about getting the XP setup correctly before adding planes and scenery. I was going along pretty good with my joystick and hatswitch getting close to where I wanna be and then changed some rendering options (turning up a little higher). Since then, I cannot for the life of me change views anymore. Whether by keyboard shortcut or via menu, I am stuck in 2D cockpit view. What in the world did I do wrong and can someone get me straightened out?

could it be that somehow you changed a setting while making correction to commands. can you change your view using the menu?

That's the thing - I cannot change the view via menu neither. No clue what is going on!

You might try renaming X-Plane 10\Output\preferences to X-Plane 10\Output\preferences_old and restart X-Plane.....

Yah. I was gonna say delete preferences totally, but that works too!

Excellent advice guys!! That did it. So I assume this is equivalent to deleting the fsx.cfg file huh? Thanks a million!!! Now time to see what other kind of trouble I can get myself into - huge learning curve here.
