January 13, 201412 yr It might be just my PC but I want to know if Ballarat, Australia (YBLT) was mucked up by MS in the product compilation process. I have never seen the airfield manifest on the ground other than 3 generic buildings, a windsock and ndb which are being generated from a MS stock yblt airport. I decided to get ADE going to fix it and when an ADEx search is done for YBLT it comes up with the Avalon (YMAV) files ( but cannot open them). Is this a fault in FSX directories or has my PC glitched (again!). Is this an issue for everyone or not. I was thinking of finishing what I've done a bit more and submitting to Avsim Library but if its not a generic issue, then my "fix" may only work for me. Thats why I'd like feedback on others accessibilty to a yblt runways and taxiways etc
January 13, 201412 yr Nothing wrong for me, running FSX/A. It looks in the sim just like the default airport looks when loaded into ADEX. Sounds like your default APX file is toast. Look in ...\Scenery\1005\scenery for APX86450.bgl. Should be dated Aug. 12, 2006 and weigh 148,709 bytes. regards, Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.
January 13, 201412 yr Author thanks.. yes that file was somehow altered in sept 2012 and only has 8kb in it.. but that file has Avalon in it too and ADEx still opens up the stock Avalon YMAV schematic so not sure what has happened or what is going on. Now wondering how many other airports/airstrips in the region are now missing components. Somewhere in this house I've got a data disc of that fsx folder so shall go looking for it .. would replacing that file cause any issues as I've heard that these bgl files in the scenery directory should not be altered or replaced.

It sounds like you have a file for Avalon that was modified and saved with the default file name. That process will strip out all of the other airports in that file. If you have a modified Avalon you might want to rename that file before replacing it, then move the renamed file to some place like Addon Scenery. regards, Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.
