January 14, 201412 yr Thanks Steve, yes I see your point ... you mean like QW BAe-146, PMDG 777, Carenado B1900D, and PFPX supporting NavDataPro?
January 14, 201412 yr Commercial Member Yes, but you may have trouble providing all the addons with the same data from the one company. For example with my new IF10 out shortly, at the moment only supported by NavDataPro, and so in theory if you had all Navigraph then you would also have to get a purchase for the same cycle from NavDataPro. Except that IF10 works a little differently; it's main dataset is based on the AXE FMS (one of the best ones), and therefor an AXE AIRAC cycle from NavDataPro or Navigraph can be used interchangeably. Another little tic is whereby some aircraft FMS name FAFs and IDFs and other WPs. a little different, so the planner based on xyz comes up with different names to FMS abc. Again IF10 works a little differently here, the planner can read the actual FMS dataset that the plane actually uses to make the plan to be 100% the same (PMDG, iFly, Level-D, AXE supported at the moment), although in general the plans made from the AXE AIRAC will be perfectly OK. January 15, 201412 yr PFPX + TOPCAT, any reason these products are separate? Seems like they really belong together as a single user interface ... actually I guess EFB, PFPX, and TOPCAT should be one user interface ... would save on loading weather into 3 different products. I'll try out NavDataPro -- seems to work with most of what I want and/or use.

Topcat does not support PMDG 777 or Aerosoft A320 atm :(
January 15, 201412 yr I am just trying EFB......using Navigraph and Activesky next + FSBuild + TopCat..they all work well togeather....might purchase EFB looks great up to now.....
January 15, 201412 yr Yes...you can use it for 30 days then you have to register it........ EFASS..is free..............
January 16, 201412 yr I've been working with them over improving a few sets, good choice. Quick question, on a networked environment, do I need to install NavDataPro on both computers? Or just the main flight sim computer? Thanks, Rob. Clarification: PFPX and EFB are on a separate computer (not flight sim computer)
January 16, 201412 yr Both. FSX for FMC data etc, and remotely so you can put on the PFPX data. EFB's data is actually installed on the FSX PC where the data provider is. Cheers, Andy.

January 17, 201412 yr Well had a blast last night working with PFPX and EFB (and NavDataPro installed cycle 1401) and working with my QW RJ100. Planned a flight from KSFO to KPHX using existing route from database -- already had aircraft template for the RJ100 so just made one from that with a few changes ... didn't have to use P3DV2 flight planner at any stage of process (this is a good thing since P3DV2 planner can cause hard crash ... believe this is schedule for fix in next patch). QW RJ100 FMC loaded the .RTE, no issues. The only thing I couldn't do was export my flight plan from PFPX to EFB ... I thought someone suggested this was possible? Anyway, was able to just save to .PLN and load the .PLN from EFB. The only thing EFB didn't do was show enroute weather ... is it supposed to? Whole new world of flight planning that I have so much to learn about ... sadly my flight OOM'd as soon as I crossed over KLAS (directly in the route) ... I guess even at FL331 P3DV2 was loading KLAS. Fortunately flight was saved (FSUIPC) and I could resume once I reset everything. Cheers, Rob.
January 17, 201412 yr I think EFB can only show, as in, on the moving map, winds at the aircraft via the arrow, if that is what you mean. My only wish for future versions is that the library module be more "out front", and that it supports tabbed viewing of multiple documents. The rest is pretty good as is. Regards,Brian Doney
