January 17, 201412 yr I hate him. I was happy, I was satisfied with my flights. It was enough for my evenings after recovering from my three pesters. Good, sometimes awesome airports to fly to and departure from with lot of traffic around me, decent AI, great and quite realistic weather, dynamic camera to support TrackIR, Orbx texture to fly over with coherent landclasses, crew announcements, FMC to program in complex cockpit like PMDG737. What could I ask more? Yes, of course, not everything was shining gold, some pale bronze here and there at times, like crashing on short final after 3 hours, stutters and freezing at detailed airports forcing the 737 to stay in hangar on that flight, but who's perfect in this world? Those troubles could be well accepted on the overall picture. Every week I was looking, like most of us, to the numerous new releases of airports and utilities. Then it came PR3DV2, the future they say, let's buy it from day one because, you know, there's no alternative out there. The future is bright, I kept repeating myself, sceneries will be soon ported and converted and new features added. Let's buy that Budapest for PR3D and ASN, wonderful weaher. Everything looked good and promising. Then...then one evening I came across a picture post. I have to admit, rarely cheched that area before because my only used section was FSX and subdirectory. Title "Greetings from Switzerland". What I saw changed my sim view What I had on my HD was not what I was staring at, not even in new Pr3D. How many FSX simmers have never tried X-Plane once in their life? I was one of them but after trying the demo without preconceptions I had everything installed in one week. Yesterday after downloading HD MEsh V2 and photoreal of my region, I fly my new Carenado King Air around my town heading to the country hills and snowed mountains where I use to sky. What I've missed so far  So realistic, town streets lights, highways traffic, realistic village layout and buildings, reflections of hills on lake water, unforgettable true clouds to fly trough wrapped around mountain peaks...gorgeus. After a couple of hours I went to bed so excited. Was that already present in FSX? Could be but honestly I never felt that immersion when flying both an heavy or a small GA. They say that XP is always the second out there, that, yes XP is good but what about tons of addons on the market and the money you spent onto them. The truth for me is that I cannot care less about what I've been spending for years in FSX waiting for improvements which are already available. I understood exactly why Hollow1slo had to open that topic. hard to explain, FSX has the best pieces of the sim puzzle, but when you put everything together it's still not hitting the red mark. This morning I got refund for PR3D, disinstalled it and FSX from my HD. Unlike many I have no time and resources to maintain two flight sims at the same time and I must go where my eyes lead. I hope I will not regret. I keep reading that LR is not fully committed to develop XP to its potentiality, that 3rd part developers are staying away because of the small audience and profitability, but for me as it stands now XP is far more enjoable than FSX. After all...thanx again Hollow1slo  Riccardo Viecca
January 17, 201412 yr Commercial Member The screenshots he provided were certainly eye-openers. I fly both P3Dv2 and XP10 and like both of them. Glad to see that you got a chance to check out a new platform and experience the features that xplane can offer. I just had a flight last week on a projector and was stunned with the detail and beauty that xplane can offer. REX AccuSeason Developer REX Simulations

After all...thanx again Hollow1slo  Wow guys, I don`t really know what to say. I am so glad you enjoy THE SIM as much as I do. Actually, the whole story about my XP10 experience is quite funny. I purchased the boxed copy from Aerosoft as soon as it came out, but was very disappointed at first. After the PC upgrade in december last year, I gave it another go. I read some forum posts, mainly regarding the scenery and weather addons and was quite amazed at was I could achieve. I thought it all looked quite fine and decided to share some of the screens with you guys. But still, the final outcome is very much a combination of fantastic payware, donationware and freeware contributions, especially: - Altpilotx`s fantastic HD Mesh v2, - Simheaven`s OSM data + autogen, - SkyMaxx, - very cool payware a/c addons and - Laminar Research for XP10. Once again, thank you all for your nice comments, I really appreciate it A LOT. And finally, we need to keep those screenshots coming, maybe we can attract some more big budget players. January 17, 201412 yr This is like a pendulum, someone posts shots of P3d and the whole crowd goes wah wah clap clap and same with XPX . Don't know for which to save up for. Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus
January 17, 201412 yr The difference is: XP10 is best in motion - not screenshots. It's the other way around with FSX/P3D. Flo B.

January 18, 201412 yr Very good post! The same thing happened to me when I watched a Froogle video on YouTube. I installed XPX 4 weeks ago, and these weeks became my most enjoyable simming experience ever! The look and especially the feel of X Plane is so much better than MSFS and its derivates. It is a FLIGHT sim, and it absolutely does what it says, the sensation of flight and the immersion is second to none. I have XPX installed on its own SSD, so FSX is still there, I can fire it up anytime I want. I did that twice during the last month. First time to do a NGX flight, second time to take my MJC Q400 on a short hop, both times to avoid becoming inactive in a VA. I'll have to fill out the leave of absence form anytime soon, because I won't be spending too much time in FSX in the next weeks! ;-)
