The Best Freeware Aircraft for FS9

Recommended Posts

Not being able to find a good previous thread to start with, I figured we can start the best freeware aircraft thread with a clean slate.  So please add your favorite freeware rides for FS9.  I'll begin with a few of my own.

Airliners:

Tinmouse 737-200  http://library.avsim.net/search.php?SearchTerm=tinmouse_ii_v1.30_fs9.zip&CatID=fs2004ac&Go=Search

GA:

Cessna 150    http://www.fs-tutorials.com/en/down_plane_C150_01.php      An outstanding trainer.

Maule M7-260     Great for the Bush.

Piper Tri-Pacer    Why? It's just plain fun!!  You really can't go wrong with anything by Lynn and Bill Lyons.

Last, but not least, sort of a hybrid.  My default C-172SP merged with the RealAir C-172 air file.

I've added Shockwave lights and replaced the default gauges with my RealityXP Flightline T steam gauges.  Now it's a great ride.

So what have I missed??

Cheers,

Jeff

Edit:  Unfortunately, my links to the FlightSim.com site didn't seem to stick.  The files you want are:

Piper Tri-Pacer  http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/fslib.php?do=copyright&fid=92152

Maule M7-260   http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/fslib.php?do=copyright&fid=70014

and the update  http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/fslib.php?do=copyright&fid=71526

Dave Maltby's BAC-111

There are many more but I'll let others chime in.

Here is the link for the Project Tupolev Tu-154B-2 and Tu-154M  http://www.protu-154.org/index_e.html

Thanks for the link to this.  I've always wanted to try this, but never did; largely because my Russian sucks, lol.  But I just took the plunge and downloaded it.  Thanks again.

Cheers,

Jeff

Anything out of David Maltby's stable: Comet, Trident, Bac 11 and the VC10.

The VC10 has a number of panel improvements available on avsim. An ongoing project including full in-depth manual and voice checklists, cabin & ground interaction / refuelling / pressurisation / oxygen depletion etc. etc.

An iminent update is specifically for the Super and Standard which will include a fully working anti-ice panel. No "single" anti-ice switch on this a/c!!! :O

PS. Besides the variables that control the switches, dials and MIs seen here there are about 70 other background control variables working.

In no particular order, and perhaps a little off the beaten track:

POSKY B773

http://poskyarchive.com/

This one I want to point out because the SkySpirit2012 777 series is available, which is essentially an update to the Project Opensky 777 series. The new version incorporates the new lighting system that is available on the SkySpirit2010 767 series, SkySpirit2012 747-8 series, and the TDS 787 and 737s.
