January 20, 201412 yr Shalom and greetings all my pals,Long long long time before FLYING WILD ALASKA Era Airline and NWT ICE PILOTS Buffalo Airways became famous on national tv, there was real and original Ice Pilots stuff called Reeve Aleutian Airways which for many years from 1947 to 2000 dominated very difficult and dangerous routes within Alaska using many different propeller planes in ultra freezing winter weather conditions.Reeve Aleutian Airways had started jet operations with new 727s for first time!!!Presenting Reeve Aleutian Airways' maiden jet flight on New Year Eve where passengers are boarding in middle of snowstorm for flight from PAOM Nome Airport located two nautical miles west of the central business district of Nome, Alaska to Anchorage where they will do New Year Eve partying.Starting new engines on very icy passenger apronTaxiing to short of runway 09Entering into runway 09 for more taxi and backtrackingPowerful snowstorms mean nothing to Reeve Aleutian Airways!!!Backtracking on runway 09 for take off via WONAB departureAirborne with background view of Norton Sound on climb through heavy snowstorm to FL330 heading to WONABThrough thick cloudsahhh gorgeous sunrise becoming visible after clearing out of heavy cloudsDon't you love sunrise?Intercepting WONAB above waters of Norton Sound and heading to UNKSky is now crystal blue clear while still climbing to FL330Nice wing view of Safety Sound Bay where you can see very long strip which is actually Nome Council RoadClimbing climbing to FL330Now cruising at F330 with background view of Egg Island next to Saint Michael BayCruisingBecause of regulations of those forums not allowing more than 20 screenshots per post, please be kind enough to go to this hyperlink below to view rest of SUPER SUPER GORGEOUS FLIGHT WITH AMAZING SUN VIEWS.
