Eaglesoftdg just announced the Citation XLS+ is their newest project

Featured Replies

I can honestly say that the CX2.0 was my best review to date and I am VERY confident that the XLS+ will be a hit. If you're not a fan of bizjets, you soon will be!..

Yep. The head man himself posted the announcement in the 'What's to Come in 2014' http://forum.avsim.net/topic/430941-whats-to-come-in-2014/?p=2910758 thread a couple of days ago. He went on to say the new Team Eaglesoft is hard at work on the XLS+ and will also be doing a total makeover of the CJ1+ and they have more unnamed projects on a secret list and further that they will be looking into also making a P3D edition of these new birds. Sounds to me like that are not going to be dual installs editions but totally separate versions for FSX first, then P3Dv2.

You will need to read this entire thread to get all the scoop. It came out kinda piecemeal during the many conversations and exchanges. Especially the fact they will also redo the CJ1+.

ESDG has confirmed these planes will carry WAAS enabled GPS systems and have quarterly update-able navdata that can be purchased from RealNavData (http://www.realnavdata.com/homesim.html) Both of these Citations will have the ES edition of the Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionics package. There are some images of the real world cockpits for each a little earlier in this thread.

And further, Ron stated the XLS+ is well into the development stage and sometime in the future we can expect to see some images of the work in progress. This will happen 'in due time' to quote Mr. Hamilton, President/CEO of Eaglesoft Development Group.

BTW, I have absolutely nothing to do with ESDG other than being a thorn in Ron's side and the only reason I am supplying this info is that I started the thread in the first place.

My 10th grade English teacher told me that the world is an editor and if one will just commit to a few written words, someone will surely come along and correct it.

I hope the Citation X gets a new model also. The systems can stay the same but the model is a bit outdated.

I agree with a new X or maybe even a Citation Ten for FSX. I would add the BeechJet 400 XT/XP or whatever the new owner names it to the ES wish list. A Nextant 400 XTi would make a unique selection.

ES could really do well with leveraging their new ES Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21. An ES HawkerBeechcraft 400 XPR should be well received by the world wide flight sim community.

Hawker 400 XPR is a candidate as is the X. Ten isn't happening, systems too complex for simming at this time.

Yep, also a lot of touch screens in the TEN package. Good news that that an updated or new X is on the list. I know a lot of simmers will be excited to hear this.

I think the Hawker XPR would be the world wide hit due to its long history with so many different owners through the years. I think we need a dirt strip type bizjet in FSX. Go anywhere, land or takeoff on your ranch or farm or a lonely strip of highway.

Ron,

Have you guys considered some of the later CJ models like the CJ3+ or CJ4? They may be just different enough but yet could use the PL21 with some tweaking of control panels and such. I guess also you could end up with too many slightly different models of the same basic aircraft. God forbid.

Of course, that is the success story of Cessna Citations - cut and paste in the metal shop.

Little difference between CJ1+ and CJ4 so we'll pass on CJ4.

Little difference between CJ1+ and CJ4 so we'll pass on CJ4.

I suppose so. Other than 2 more seats, 60% increase in gross weight, 75 kts of more cruise speed, more than double the payload, and more than double the range. I guess that is 'Little difference'

Fair enough. How about consideration of aftermarket winglets on the CJ1+? If nothing else it would add to the 'ramp appeal'.

Ray

How about a properly done Hawker 800XP? (Sorry JF). It's an awesome aircraft (if you ignore the fact that they forgot to put in an external baggage hold). There are also tons of them around and I don't think it's too complex system-wise.

And while we're approaching this from the perspective that some of the modern jets' avionics are a massive challenge to model properly....how about some of the older birds that are still kicking around? These all have mostly steam gauges up front:

  •  Hawker 700 - old and busted, but a few still flying
  •  Falcon 10  - rocket ship with (still) unmatched performance (speed, range, runway performance)
  •  Falcon 20  - mostly cargo, but a few VIP a/c floating around the US
  •  Falcon 50  - straight up beautiful
  •  Falcon 900B - beautiful with long legs
  •  Learjet 31/35 - far more of these still flying than the 20's. VIP, Cargo and Medevac. I wonder if Xtreme Prototypes would consider it....
  •  Challenger 601 - tons of these still flying VIP, government, military. Transatlantic range
  •  IAI Astra - can we get away with this by not calling it a G100?

I'd love to see any of the above done properly....and while we're dreaming:

  •  Anything with the Gulfstream name on it - particularly the G550.
  •  Global 6000
  •  Newer Challengers - I know there's an ongoing project for these over at fsdeveloper....looking good.
  •  Falcon 2000, 900EX and 7X - praying Wilco does a good job with this
  •  Phenom 300/500

I don't think the JF Hawker 800XP would be in the same ballpark as an ESDG edition of the Hawker 800XP. I did the Avsim review of the JF 800XP Bizjet and although the exterior looks nice, the use of default gauges just spoiled it for me. I was hoping they would put out a SP to fix it but they didn't. It is just a not so good Lite version, somewhat better than Abacus but what the hay. It is the only one in town for now.

I know. I own it.....unfortunately it's parked at the back of my "Hangar" folder collecting dust.

The Eaglesoft XLS will be an instant-buy for me, although there are very few of them in my neck of the woods.
