January 22, 201412 yr Author I really look fwd for at least the torque bug getting some fix. If one uses loads of art stab to overcome it, then forget about your vanilla GA exhibiting proper speed stability properties - they react as if they had neutral stability and all fly like airbuses... If you clear the art stab, then it'll be a constant fight against the trims, and it's not only the pitch trim! Felis, and Goran, on creations like the excellent DC3 ( X-Aviation ) and the superb IL-24 ( x-plane.org ) have managed to bring the FDM close to acceptable behaviour, but it still is not the way for instance some aircraft even in MSFS behave ( better IMO ) when it comes to the natural stability characteristics their real counterparts are built with... Have you ever tried the phugoids in a C172 / Baron... in X-plane 10? You'll see what I mean :-/ 10.30, 10.30.... like a Mantra, I keep saying to myself everyday.... EDIT : Whow!!! From the 77 total votes we are today with 99!!! From time to time I send Austin a screenshot of this Poll :-) Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
January 22, 201412 yr That terrible brake screech in the default aircraft is, I think, one of the easiest to correct, yet it remains through all the updates. But, I fly payware and have not heard it for a while and, with that said, it may have been corrected. It alone, could keep lots of potential XPX purchasers out of the market. John John Wingold

January 22, 201412 yr Author Thanks much for letting me know that I'm not the only one with that kind of opinion. The good news is that as far as we know Austin is really working on the fix for, at least, the torque bug! Let's hope for the best Marcus... :-) Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

January 22, 201412 yr I would like to see better control over dual screens in XP. I'm sure a lot of folks would be driving two screens from the one card. It would be great to have bezel management to get rid of the nasty split screen effect. Not sure if this is possible but there you go. As Matthew from "Anne of Green Gables" observed rather dryly, "It don't hurt none to have an opinion" Cheers all, Bruce H (Oz)
January 22, 201412 yr I couldn't agree more with you on these things! Thanks much for letting me know that I'm not the only one with that kind of opinion. Trust me, you're not. It is the number one reason why I can never quite get past the demo and invest in the time (it's really about time for me) to delve into what XP can be. Every few releases, I update the demo and try again, and every time this one simple flight dynamics issue diminishes my willingness to commit further time. And no, this is not coming from the perspective of how it feels in another sim, but how it works IRL. I can't imagine that I won't begin to at least cautiously invest time and a few $$ into XP once this is finally addressed. Scott Edit: just added my 3 votes to the poll. Reminded me of one other small thing that makes a big difference - mouse wheel support. Yes, yes and YES!
January 23, 201412 yr That terrible brake screech in the default aircraft is, I think, one of the easiest to correct, yet it remains through all the updates. Is it the brake screetch or the tire when "rolling diagonally"? At least when refering to the latter, I don't think it is THIS irrealistic - see here at 2:05 and I think also at 2:18. By the way - THAT'S what I call FLYING  :good: . My sceneries (excerpt): LPMA Madeira (XPFR), LGSR Santorini, LRBV Brasov, the city of Fürth (Germany), several libraries, ...

That's pretty extreme and SHOULD produce a screeching sound, but that's not what I am talking about. It's just the forward rolling brake sound. Unless they have corrected it, land the 172 on any runway, with no wind, and listen to the sound. I say unless they have corrcted it, because it has been a good while since I have flown any of the default aircraft - Carenado has got my money! John John Wingold
January 24, 201412 yr My vote goes for (better and more intense) cloud shadows on ground and better Track Ir Integration.
January 24, 201412 yr Yeah, weather, seasons, torque bug are on my top list too. Everybody wants ATC&AI but I think there would be too much effort needed to make a satisfying intelligent voice communication with pilot, taking into account AI, weather, SIDs, STARs etc. Projects like this are called Expert systems for human-computer interaction and are quite complex and to me it seems it still lies in the future. (Then again, I never tried VOX-ATC and the like; maybe the future is closer than I think) Daniel
