Update your Xplane Nav Database?

Recommended Posts

I've updated my XP10 nav.data a couple of times using Robin Peel's info.  I've had no problems with it.  If this is what you are asking.  It's free.

I've also added about 20 DME stations to NDBs in Alaska where they were missing.  Not a big deal either with XP.  Look thru the manual if adding your own info is what you are asking.

BTW> You may need to add any home made corrections after every XP update.  The update will overwrite them.  Keep your own copies.

The nav data is updated normally upon each release using this exact file anyway (So if you have 10.25, you more than likely already have it), I've never had any problems with it.

If you noticed problems with the navdata, then as Jerry suggested, you can add them yourself and submit the changes to Robin. Your change will then eventually find its way into X-Plane. I've also added a few VORs which were missing in Eastern Europe.

Can't you use NavDataPro/Navigraph data to update the database?

Pretty sure uFmc has a tool for that + another addon (Neo?).

navigraph etc. update your addons nav data I believe, but from the x-plane dev website linked above you can get navdata updates to X-planes own database. Addon planes like Jardesign A320 tend to use their own database instead of x-plane, like you said. I think Jardesign uses airbus extended's navdata just copypaste into A320's folder.

UFMC comes with a convertor which compiles the aforementioned nav data into XP db format, which you then copy into the X-plane folders.

I forget which files it replaces but I'm pretty sure they are the actual XP nav database files. (Waypoints, Vor's, Ndb's etc)
