Brian,I'm not trying to have a go, as such, but will try to share my take on this.I think I understand what you've been saying. In a few words, the tinmouse downloads have been made available publicly as a conscious decision to help beta testing on the package progress in part by the distribution of new builds. Announcing each iteration or update of this high quality, sought after package in numerous places will resultantly hammer bandwidth (provided at no cost to us) and possibly result in another outage of the website which could hamper beta testing efforts.I left some points out, but these seem to me to be the central points and concern in your posts to this thread. You said that you have discussed these issues with Richard as well. While I cannot assume that such is the case, I may infer that you have more than just a passing interest in his project and are perhaps even helping him as a beta tester. If so, I can understand your wanting to ensure its continuous operation. While I've addressed this to you, I intend especially the following paragraph for all to consider. With all earnesty, far be it from me to lecture anyone on Richard's beta or its operations.Though I admire Richard's work very much and have been trying to learn what I can about the operations of both panels with each build, I am not on the beta team. I simply love VOR navigation and the classic look and jaw-dropping accuracy Richard's panels have. I have an idea from interest I've seen in past posts in many forums that there are quite a few other folks like me. I'm sure Richard has accounted for this (perhaps as evidenced by his already high bandwidth limits), and from the relative longevity of his site with only one interruption in service, it would seem to me that he has not only accounted for its popularity but is willing to stay the course. I imagine that such is the usual path of public betas that are very high quality.Again, I understand why those involved in the beta would like to see the website stay up. I also understand why people get excited over his panels (I know I do) and want to share the good news of their smile-inducing improvements with others. Who knows? Perhaps the original poster's announcements at different sites will spark the interest of a very fine beta-tester to be... In any case, while I think I understand your reasoning, I plan to continue to download his future builds (one time each ;-) ) while possible unless I get an indication from Richard that I should desist (and only then with sadness, I might add).Who knows? I might be able to somehow help him...Happy flying,KevinP.S. The fish was great. Thanks!http://img53.exs.cx/img53/9061/fishonfire2qy.jpg

Kev,Yes, you sum it up, pretty much exactly.Except, it really isn't that big if a deal. Seriously. There has only been one outage, and it was 95% caused by the sudden renewed interest in the 727 panel after the Vistaliners release, and some new updates to it from Richard. This thread has only made 4 pages because a select few will take any opportunity to chastise me for not being "nice".Maybe I am a jerk sometimes, I don't deny that, but that has nothing at all to do with the point I made; your understanding shows, that even through all the vitriol, the point is actually clear enough for those that don't have a personal agenda or get a thrill from putting on a fireworks show for others. Thanks for posting.EDIT:grammar, spelling

Bob,You came straight at me with your first post in this thread, at a point when I hadn't attacked anyone.Maybe I was a little sarcastic, but my posts were far from what you try to represent them as.And still you persist.

Panel looks great...but can't find the altitude indicator NOR the autopilot....Did I do something wrong ont the install?

I just went into the download section of the site and there is a little confusing list of about 12 files to choose from to download. These appear to be different BUILDS. Assuming I don't have this panel which file(s) do I need to download and install and in what order? What does the warning mean that it is "incomplete and full of bugs?"Thanks for your help!Airbus

I also find his site very confusing. the last time I tried working out what do download and then installing it didn't work out!

why I stopped posting much in these forums. It's getting nasty around here! I remember about a year ago, I posted a simple question and was beat down for asking a question that was answered in a thread months earlier. I just brought home a new baby boy and finally got back into FS, didn't have much time to search even though I probably should have. The time it took to bash me was probably longer than the time it would've taken to answer my simple question.Maybe these bashers are using these forums to vent their real world frustrations? It's really sad to see this and just about everyday I see this behavior. :-(

Well I just gave it another shot ( Last time I tried was about 6 months ago ) and it is messed up! I followed the ReadmePANEL INSTALLATIONUsing WinZip, extract to your FS2004 root folder using the "Use folder names"option. The full path must be //Fs2004/aircraft/fsfsconv/panel.b732, otherwisethe sound effects will not work.I did as it said using winzip! And every thing is just dumped in that panel.b732 folder! Then when I choose the aircraft I'm using the panel with I get a B732.gau error! So I tried deleting that file and now the panel loads but the gauges are missing! Its a very confusing setup! Why not make it SIMPLE!
