About reporting to Facebook, I did the same thing.  Hoping that if Facebook get enough of these they will shut it down.

It is really disgraceful that this kind of thing still happens in the 21st century and that some people are actually stupid enough to attempt it. I do hope no-one was a victim of this because their page has been online for a long time, what they are doing is also essentially criminal fraud. I have also reported their Facebook page and let's hope they get taken down as soon as possible and then it is down to hopefully the authorities taking it down or the web host. In the meantime I think everyone can also swing their full support behind NLS who are progressing in creating a real, fantastic A380 simulation.

This is too crazy to be true....  and they don't even offer online payment so whtat is their point ??  I think they just want to have fun reading us over-reacting   and this is just a BAD joke !

They ask you to provide your credit card details via e-mail. Not recommended ...

What happened to AVSIM

I've also reported their FaceBook Page. These guys are a joke.

Paypal definitely isn't as safe as they want us to believe. If you're familiar with how Paypal works it can be abused very easily, as my example above shows.

Probably the safest way to shop online is with a credit card where you've got the option of doing a charge back if things don't work out. The only problem there is if you make too many charge backs you'll probably find your credit card account will get closed and you'll be black listed by credit card companies.

Actually, I think Paypall is safer than using your Credit Card.. If the merchant doesn't pay, and Paypal refuses to pay.. then you just call your Credit Card company and they refund your money.

It happened to me a few years back. I bought a couple of concert DVD's.. The website disappeared a few days later, and there phone number was bogus. I contacted paypal, and they acknowledged that I was in the right, but there was nothing they could do since the 'merchant' disappeared. I called my Credit Card company and they refunded my money. As long as you move quickly your CC company is going to back you up.

So I think it's safer to use Paypal, as opposed to risking your CC number getting in the hands of a scammer.

But on the other hand having your Bank Account tied to Paypal is definitely not safe!

YES and YES! I had a dispute with someone, and had a PayPal account linked to a checking account. They took a quick statement from me, and a quick statement from the vendor and sided with the vendor.

That's it. Nothing you can do about it. They probably favor their vendors more. If I had the account hooked-up to a credit card, and they favored with vendor, I could also dispute directly with the credit card company, who usually favors the buyer.

I've been using PayPal for years without any problems* at all. I use it not only for occasional purchases, but also I get paid by my employer via PayPal, since they are in Canada and sending a cashier's check is [a] too expensive and  takes too long.

When I first set up the PayPal service, I linked it to a new (free) checking account at my bank that was opened specifically for this purpose. This allows me to transfer any incoming funds to my "real" checking account online, and leave only $1 in the PayPal linked account to keep it open, while not allowing PayPal any access whatsoever to my primary checking or savings accounts!

For any purchases I make, I can either fund the PayPal linked account myself, or use a Visa card I keep strictly for online purchases. Since the credit limit on that card is only $500, I've limited my liability as much as possible in case of fraud.

*Nota Bene: I did in fact have one small problem when a payment I'd made for the last AVSIM Fancon in Wichita was refunded too quickly (less than 5 minutes!), PayPal froze that refund for thirty-days because it triggered a "fraud alert flag" on their system...

Paypal is owned by eBay. A competitor of Amazon Marketplace, and to some extent Amazon itself.

From their website:

Finally after two years hostelry work , our special Product is Preparing for release for microsoft flight simulator X Prepar3D & fs2004 platform !!!""

Two years of hostelry work...two whole years (whatever hostelry means)   All that and they even copied the $89.99 price off PMDG's 777.  Probably isn't even worth .99 cents!

It means they worked in a hostel:  inn or hotel.

Edit: I will make a report for the wall of shame and submit it to you, Tom - is that ok?

Thanks again for the support, guys! It looks like the webspace provider is located here in Germany (Hetzner AG) and I will try to contact them tomorrow.

I already have reports from people who actually tried to purchase the fake A380 - they submitted their CC details via email but got no download link back (oh, surprise?). Hope this will end soon...

Oli, that works for me. Thank you.
