I have to agree! While I think adding a little comedy or entertainment value, like what Southwest does, does tend to keep your attention more then the normal drab safety speech. These high cost over the top theatrical productions go too far. The message gets lost in the show.

That video has been controversial in New Zealand as the locals are calling it cheap. People didn't mind Hobbits or Bear Grylls but don't like this one.  I guess controversy is good in raising brand awareness. ANZ has publicly said people need to lighten up and get over it.
