Get the Mindstar G1000, if you are planning to use the ESDG DA42. You can actually replace the default G1000 in the DA42 with the Mindstar G1000 - it integrates seamlessly. And since the Mindstar G1000 is used in RedBird simulators, you know what you are getting. You also can update the NavData for the G1000 quarterly using RealNav. Lastly, WAAS is to be implemented in the near future. The other benefit of the Mindstar G1000 is you can use it in FS9, FSX, and Prepare3D. I'm not sure if the DA42 is P3D compatible yet - Ron would need to chime in about that.

No need for that, I had the DA42 in P3v2.0 and it was working perfectly fine. I will however have to find out why the MFD is now fubared. It appears that v2.1 has done something to the XML parsing engine, and now virtually everyone's custom map displays are inop...

Of course if one is going to replace the PFD/MFD with the Mindstar version, that won't be an issue.  B)

Just had a conversation w/Stasi at Mindstar this afternoon as we were ironing out a few things about the DA42 Twin Star in P3Dv2.

Testing and implementation in that simulation platform continues as Bill hinted.

It's very likely to be the first P3Dv2 offering from Eaglesoft. We emphasize v2 because the v2 model files represent a total commitment to that platform as opposed to the use of FSX model files into P3D as a sort of intermediate step. B)

We are not condemning the other G1000 representations. Eaglesoft DA42 w/Mindstar implementation is something we think offers simmers choices they would not have available otherwise.

Just got the Mindstar G1000 and I'm very impressed, a quick procedural ILS into EGHI proved everything to work well, got the landing perfectly on the centreline but a little long. Looking forward to using this combo more, I've got a lot to learn!

The only thing, and hopefully you can help me here Ron, is that the G1000 doesn't appear on the 2D panel. If I click the displays, they appear when expanded. Any idea why?

Thanks

Ian

Hi Ian

I also bought the Eaglesoft DA42 with Mindstar G1000. Unfortunately i experience the same effect, the G1000 is black in the 2D Panle while it works fine in the VC and in the Zoom.

Do you have any fix or workaround to make it appear int the 2D Panel?

Kind regards

Manuel

So in essence, the bog standard F1 mustang G1000 is pretty much the same as the mindstar?

I.e lacking in individual airways......

I do hope this will be added over time and the source of data changed to navigraph, since every other aircraft I have uses it.
