P3D wont go to fullscreen (3 Monitors 5760x1080) GTX780 ?

Recommended Posts

I did have this strange problem when switching to fullscreen 5760x1080 (3 monitors), P3D will switch back to 1 screen only no matter what ever I do, that happened with V2 and V2.1, the only time it worked OK is today when I applied the 2.1 patch then exited P3D, went to work, came back, fired up P3D and it wont go to Fullscreen mode??

any suggestion?

Interesting...I run 3 BenQ 22 inch monitors on a GTX780 with no issues.  I wanted to put them in portrait mode versus landscape and I guess Nvidia Surround has an issue with that and Nvidia is working on it.  I downloaded and installed the 2.1 patch last night.  No issues either in a "windowed" mode stretched at full screen or absolute full screen.  Still testing things to see what improved or changed in regards to my individual setup, but no real issues so far.

Hope you get it figured out.  Might try changing your graphics driver to one a little earlier or later to see if that makes a difference.

Do you have the "Auto-fill Main View" option ticked?

I was using three 24"s in portait mode about four months ago with Surround.

Worked with no problems at all.

Thanks for both of you;

I've tried several drivers including latest BETA with no luck.

Yes I do, tried different scenarios and still no luck

Bumping this because I have the same problem with 3 portrait 1200 x 1920 with nvidia surround. Latest beta drivers.

In windowed mode, I can stretch the frame across all three screens and it works okay, but bezel correction does not work. Hitting alt-enter to switch to full screen mode usually ends up with P3D running on 1 screen and the other two black. I say usually because if I try several times, once in a while, it will actually go full screen on all three, but I can't find a reliable way to reproduce it.

What screen resolution have you set in P3D's display settings?

***WORKAROUND***

I purchased P3D v2.2 yesterday and hit this problem within minutes of installation.

FSX worked (almost) perfectly with NVidia Surround, however P3D initially used all three screens then after installing another piece of software (not an add-on), I hit this problem with full screen only appearing on one monitor. The problem appeared to be having another window open when launching P3D.

After much tinkering, I have come up with a workaround as follows:

  • First of all, P3D seems to ignore the resolution you set, so if you want to make use of bezel correction, set the desktop to the corrected resolution (i.e. what you want P3D to run).
  • Next, within P3D, set the resolution to match (even though it appears to ignore this value)
  • Select black out windows (sorry if this is wrong, I can't remember exactly what this is called) and optionally, set to auto-fill main view.
  • Now run P3D.
  • If this appears on one screen, press alt-enter to make P3D run in a window and drag the window to the centre screen.
  • Now either double-click the title bar or press the maximise button on the window, so the window fills the centre screen.
  • Finally press alt-enter to go fullscreen and voila, you should have full surround across all three monitors.

This appears to work consistently for me, so until the issue is fixed by LM, it only takes few seconds to work around.

Hope this works for you also.

BTW, I'm running the latest WHQL Nvidia drivers, running Windows 8.1 64bit.

I used to not have any problems with spanning my displays until the nVidia driver update last week. Is this the case for y'all too?

The latest driver update appears to have reversed the penultimate step of my above "fix".

I find that I now need to make sure the window is not maximised on the centre screen prior to pressing ALT-ENTER.

Not sure if anyone are has found this issue, but it is a pain. I wish Nvidia or LM would find and fix the issue.

Has anyone ever found a fix or a workaround for this problem? I seem to have this issue all the time. Eventually, it will go to full screen across three monitors after maybe 8 to 10 attempts of doing alt enter.  Sometimes it’s much easier, and sometimes it’s much harder to accomplish.  I run bezel correction in P3D, but not in Windows.  I start P3D from a smaller window on the center screen, and I have all the requisite options checked in settings.  I always have the latest Nvidia drivers. Thanks!
