design an airplane for MS flight simulator

Recommended Posts

Guest Thomanji

Hi,I look for a reliable person to design an airplane for MS flight simulator. The Airplane exists and is based on an Antonov model. We like to be able to give out to customers an add-on for MSFS to be able to fly our airplane. We are looking for quality in the equipment and flight characteristics. Anyone up for the job or does anyone have info for me on how to get this done the best and what budget is needed to do it right? You can see the airplane attached. Thanks for the help,Thom

Hi Thom,Is that an AN-14?, if so, there is one already available for FS, if its a derivitive of the AN-14, then maybe the original author could modify his existing model?.As for the original question, I dread to think how much it would cost to product a non-commercial model specific for you.I have only made one FS plane, and that alone took a team of 3 people 6 months, and that isnt even "payware" quality. But you never know, some kind soul may come to your rescue.Dan.

I estimate a total time of 750-1000 hours. As a professional, I wouldn't even consider working commercially for any job less than $25 an hour, or $30 an hour without benefits. So really, my airplane has a commercial "value" of 18,750 to 30,000 dollars, and I'd expect to pay that ammont for a commisioned product of the same quality.

Thom, You may wish to cross post this in the A/C design forum. Is this for a flying club, or virtual airline? As others who design aircraft have said, it is very involved since it combines programming, FDE design, CAD, and artistic skills. To get "quality" would cost a fortune in time. If this is something for entertainment, whether it is personal, a flying club or virtual airline and you're willing to compromise on quality, you may find a designer who can build something for you out of the goodness of his/her heart.-John
