New TV for x-plane.

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I'm now in the market for a new TV / Monitor for x-plane.

I will run it off a single GTX 770 4GB.

What should I look for? I want about 27-32" In size.

Is a monitor or TV better?

Thanks

Ian!

I run X-plane 10 on a 46 inch Samsung D7000 (probably called something different in your region). It's a high end Samsung TV and X-plane looks stunning. I'd highly recommend a TV like this even if it's 32 inch. They are a bit pricey though.

I'll take a look at a 32" equivalent.

Do you find you can put the AA settings down as the screen is larger?

You will still need AA settings as you normally would. Always connect with HDMI, otherwise with VGA you will not be able to set a HD resolution or have sound coming from the TV. VGA is a really old standard of connection. HDMI is what most people use these days.

Thanks:)

I'm thinking of going with the 27" monitor as it has a DVI connection, and to me DVI seems much clearer than HDMI! (I just tested on my samsung monitor now) And I'm not bothered by the sound as I have an external surround sound card.
