Difference between Accu Feel and SimPhysics X

Recommended Posts

I was looking for technical details. Not a blanket statement, I agree with the last poster, please extrapolate. I thought that accu feel was only a new soundset for FSX, which is why I didn't bother with it and got the other instead.

Since you are a SimPhysics user already, I see no real point in changing to AccuFeel, as long as you're happy with it. However, I would not recommend you to switch from AccuFeel to SimPhysics, either. I find AccuFeel better, because it is an addon you can easily switch on/off via the menu bar, and it is just a little program running behind FSX, not causing any further trouble.

When I tried SimPhysics, the configuration program crashed about 90% of my attempts to run it; furthermore, the installer did not simply make a backup copy of the aircraft.cfg files, but entered its values into the aircraft.cfg and created a back-up file that lost me lots of repaints, Shockwave lights configs etc when I tried to restore them manually. Maybe that was a user error, but it made me regret this purchase, because I had AccuFeel running smooth already.

Accufeel is more than just a soundset for FSX.  For example, Accufeel (version 2) has sliders for adjusting tire side friction on the runway and for turbulence effects.
