32-bit Textures and OOM's....

Recommended Posts

I just converted a bunch of 32 bit textures from a new scenery to DXT5...

From what I've read having a scenery with a lot of 32 bit textures greatly increases VAS...

Have any of you gone through your FSX folder and converted any large 32 bit textures to DXT5 format and has it made any significant difference concerning VAS levels?

What would be the easiest way to go through ones FSX folder and find all of the 32 bit textures in all of the different folders, including those of AI AC?

Thanks!

Here you go Chris. I have a more detailed doc too, but it's kinda convoluted.

Thank You!

P.S. Did it help with VAS levels and OOM's?

Naturally is would as the lesser size would = lesser load on the VAS.

(great grammar huh?)

Is there an easy way to manually search for all the 32 bit textures in the FSX folders?
