do you mean "throw in the towel"?Possibly, it does happen.Remember that CS is a Russian group and they're not used to having to support their users in the USSR.

USSR! thats a blast from the past isn't it, the Union of Soviet Socialist Repubublics broke up years ago. As for Captain Sim who are in the Russian Rebublic (although still the bigest country in the world, it is a lot smaller than CCCP) their website is still going, with the support forum supossidly under construction.

Of course the website is still there. After all it's the gateway to selling their products. (Funny how the credit card processing system ALWAYS works and is NEVER down). The point is that anyone who has bought/is buying their products is left to their own devices, since there's no support anymore. Captain Sim's fora were a great font of knowledge and tips from users (CS rarely bothered to "drop in"). All gone now. "Under construction" - under construction, my butt. I think that simmers need to start penalizing and punishing (by not spending their cash) these miserable fly-by-night outfits. ricardo

Hello All, I remember, long ago, when CS was having lots of problems with it's codes and keys, they said when they decided to go out of business, they would supply the FS community with the keys to unlock their products so no one would be stuck with software they could not use . . . let us all hope that CS is still around and just regrouping to rise and create again . . . as none of us have seen those 'magic' codes yet. It's funny, but you would think that a simple little e mail or post to the web sites who promote their products would be easy enough.Best to all,Clayhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. that is still to be decided. There's strong indications that a massive deception operation to make the west believe the USSR had collapsed was being planned starting with Stalin himself...It all went too nicely, almost like it was choreographed carefully, and it still is.If the Russians are so strapped for cash to maintain their armed forces, then why are they deploying several types of new ICBMs in programs costing tens of billions of Euro? And how come the only equipment ever seen in derelict state is the old junk that was ripe for scrapping in 1990?

Yeah that's right! It's a conspiracy and in fact the Fascist Protection Barrier in Berlin never fell either :D

Almost exactly two years ago I wrote about Captain Sim:* * * * * * * * *"(...) I've been following the CaptainSim hullabaloo with an eagle's eye, also partaking every now and then. The CS crowd publicly called many of their existing customers "betrayers", they publicly denied their future customers the right to comment on the CS customer treatment, they publicly called me (a potential future customer) a "racist", and in general did just about everything they could to alienate past, present and future clients as soundly and thoroughly as possible (...)"* * * * * * * * *Reading this thread has strengthened my opinion that one does well to give CaptainSim a wide berth. Their idea of customer relations ("Betrayer! Racist!") stank two years ago, and apparently it still stinks. I vividly remember the veiled treat they made: "We are Soviet ex-military, and we don't like customers who are betrayers". Well guys, if anybody walks up to me, identifies himself as soviet ex-military, and calls me a betrayer, I'll either whip out whatever useful means of defense I happen to have on me, or I run like hell. Probably both. Last year the Canadian government deported one of the CaptainSim crew back to his native country, east of where once the Iron Curtain hang. Good bloody riddance, and since the Canucks are not exactly of the obsessively deporting kind, they probably had a darn good reason to get rid of this particular "Soviet ex-military".Be well!Jaap Verduijn.

Amazing how a thread on CS can degrade into something completely irrelavent and off topic. :(As a former CS beta tester, I found their communication severely lacking and their trust and support of the beta teams was dismal to say the least. If they transfer this very same lack of trust and support to the purchaser they have given themselves a very short rope on which to hang themselves.Cheers,JohnBoeing 727/737 & Lockheed C-130/L-100 Mechanichttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg
