What is up with Vatsim and networked PC's using WideFS

Recommended Posts

Guest lalo lolo1

First of all I ask the Forum moderators not to move this thread. This thread involves every WideFS user (present, and future if this not solved) that connects to Vatsim on a networked PC (squawkbox in the slave computer) and is of the general interest of the whole FS community.Yesterday I was flying online when I started being kicked out of the server. I logged several times and was kicked out 5 minutes later. Later at night I found I wasn't able to connect at all, but surprinsingly if I tried to connect using my main computer (As you must understand already I connect to Sqkbx using widefs on a networked PC) I was successful.Same thing kept on happening today, after I uninstalled and reintalled sqwbx in the slave computer.I was heading to format the hard disk and reinstall everything when I learned from other users connecting though a LAN that they were having exactly the same problem, so I must understand this is something related to Vatsim, that for some reason is not accepting logins from secondary PCs.Will this be permanent, or is it a temporary problem? Is everything OK with Vatsim, and just by chance many users trying to connect through networked PC are having the same problem? Thanks,Leo

Hi Leo,I too use WideFS and a network to fly on line. However I have not experienced the problem you describe. I just completed a 1+ hour flight on Vatsim with no disconnects. Have you recently upgraded FSUIPC/WideFS? I am using WideFS version 6.4.4.0 and FSUIPC version 3.4.4.0. Or perhaps an ISP isssue?Hope you are able to get things straigtened out.

Hi,As we speak I'm flying online from EKCH to EGCC with SB running on my 2nd PC.So I guess there is something wrong with your setup. Firewall maybe?
