using MCE for default ATC only

Recommended Posts

I am looking to purchase MCE this week. My question is if I want to use MCE strictly to communicate with FSX default ATC is this possible?

If so, how do i set that up?

and will FSX still autotune the comm radios or will i need to do that?

Thank you

Rob

Yes,

MCE will communicate with FSX default ATC. It is very easy to do so and there is nothing to set up.

The main thing is to know your airplane call sign. I'm using the MCE Lite and the default Caravan, so my airplane name is Landmark one one two three.

Press the tilde key to display the ATC Menu.

If option 1 = tune to ground, simply say "OPTION ONE" and it will automatically tune to GROUND. Alternatively, you can say TUNE COM ONE to ONE TWO ONE POINT SEVEN (or what ever the frequency is) and your co-pilot will tune the radio for you.

If you want to taxi for take off, simply say 'Ground, Landmark one one two three, request taxi for take off"

Etc.

There are very good intructions to explain the various ways to contact ground, tower, departure, etc.

You will like the program!

I think it is everything you will want it to be.

Good luck!

BTW, their support is top notch!

Everything Jeff said ! That's the only function of MCE that I use, and it's brilliant. It allows you a lot more flexibility in your phraseology than some of the alternative products. And as well as setting the frequency by voice, you can also dial a frequency via the on-screen radios or an external radio module and MCE will go find the nearest airport within range with that frequency. Pretty neat.

And agree, support is excellent.
