Aircraft Container error panel/sound

Recommended Posts

I've never seen a discussion of this.I have many AI aircraft. Some are flyable, some not (though I don't fly them). The question is, some are missing panel and sound folders, some have folders but are missing .cfg files.I can't detect any error in using these as AI with no or buggy panel and sound folders, but does any one know if there is a reason why one should (or shouldn't) include the folders and just alias them to some default panel and sound?scott s..

Can help you here!I spent a lot of time downloading sound files for different engine types and setting up my AI traffic so that an Airbus sounded like an Airbus and a Boeing 727 sounded like a 727.These files are BIG and I mean BIG.Then I found out that AI traffic draws its sounds from a standard set of files: you don't need a Sound folder in an AI plane, if you do have one it doesn't do anything!Apparently, the only reason you need a Panel and Sound folder in an AI is if you want to fly it yourself from the cockpit, which you probably don't.

That's what I was figuring, just that stuff I've d/led sometimes has the sounds aliased to a default, sometimes they don't. I haven't noticed any difference. I recently installed FlightSim Manager 2.7.2, which makes these differences between aircraft installs more obvious.scott s..
