February 28, 201412 yr I could never run it in DX9 because I couldn't do the 2.x high water (which apparently seems to not be required under DX10). Well, while trying to tweak my dinosaur yet again when OrbX NorCal came out and I purchased it, I found I can run bp=0 under DX10. The only time my GTX560Ti gets over 80% gpu usage is if there's some good weather going on. BufferPools=0 hasn't fixed my issue with high density textures from Orbx randomly being blurry with the PMDG NGX, and now with even default aircraft in the new region, but a few tweaks like reducing LOD radius back to 4.5 when using default aircraft helped fix that and it's only when over dense urban/city areas. I don't think I gained any fps from bp=0 but I think I did get a bit of smoothness. That could just be the "butt dyno" effect though. Sigh, if only I had $1000 lying around to upgrade my system lol. March 3, 201412 yr Author Ok, so I've noticed something weird since I did the BufferPools=0 tweak. Previously when I would save a flight while using the PMDG NGX it would take a few seconds before it would finish saving and return to the flight. (default aircraft and the QW Avro did NOT exhibit this behavior) I wrote it off to the PMDG aircraft being a heavy duty simulation and it was saving its own flight data as well. However since going to BufferPools=0 saves with the PMDG are super fast just like default aircraft. Anyone have any idea what would be different?
