The biggest issue I have with water textures is how the sun reflects on them ... makes them look very pixelated and blocky.

Yes this is my experience as well.  It's tolerable but for starters it looks anything but ... wet!

Back to weather and clouds, FSGRW seems to have the wind data perfect, but the way the clouds are working in P3DV2 makes the Stratus usage look terrible as the rotation is just to obvious.

I'll keep playing with FSGRW settings to see if I can't stop this process from happening.

These weather apps are all great, and I can't see a clear winner. I like Opus for weather and their camera effect.... None of the other programs have that. Yet, fsgrw has great weather effects including wind... Active Sky comes along and does weather with radar.... !

Just might have to own all 3...lol.

One thing, though I would love to see the 2d stratus clouds in fsgrw improved, I like their 3d cumulus renditions the best at this point. Particularly, their clouds tend to have a more consistent shape as you fly in and through them.....Opus tends to constantly settle as if it's resseting as your position changes.

But at the end of the day, great clouds can be had easily..... How closely they replicate the weather of the day is another question....

Agree.  I use Rex E+ for textures, and FS Global Real Weather for RW weather.  And FS Global Real Weather by far provides the closest weather match, and in particular winds aloft.  BTW, when I say that I am comparing winds aloft to flight planning that I complete on my chosen real-world flight planning site, and confirmed by reading the WA charts at the NOAA Aviation Wx Center at http://aviationweather.gov/adds/winds/

Excellent!  Thank you ... installed, Auto update worked flawlessly ... my only suggestion on the update is to make running FSUIPC installer optional (it always launches FSUIPC installer on my setup).

Cheers, Rob.

After setup you are asked for which sim you want to install (FSX/FS2004). Just disable both. This silences FSUIPC installation.
