How to Uninstall Photoreal Scenery?

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

A while ago I tried a bit of the Blue Sky photo real scenery for an area just south of KSFO, but I installed the excellent ORBX Northern California scenery package, and I am still seeing the Blue Sky scenery.  I tried deactivating the Blue Sky scenery in the scenery library from within FSX, and even deleted it completely from the scenery library, but strangely it persists.  What am I doing wrong here?  Thanks!

Paul

Look in the Add/Remove programs on your computer.  Much of mine has uninstall programs showing up in the Add/Remove Programs although it's not really needed.  Deactivating the scenery through the Scenery Library is the only known way to properly deactivate the scenery.  You can go to the directory where the scenery is located and move the folder to another hard drive or into a Temp folder.  If you disabled the scenery in the Scenery Library though, it should not be showing up.

Jim, Blue Sky scenery does not use a Windows installer.  You manually copy their .bgl's to a scenery folder of your choice and enable them through the scenery library.

Paul - I use a fair bit of Blue Sky scenery, and I've never had the difficulty you describe, so I'm at a loss as to what you're getting.  There's not much that can go wrong.  About the only thing that I suspect might be going on is that you accidentally placed the BS files somewhere inside of another scenery folder that's still enabled.  Otherwise, I dunno...

With all the Bluesky scenery I had, it was just a case of deleting from the scenery library and then deleting from the HD.
