March 3, 201412 yr Nice shots ! The turbulence effects were astounding! METAR at time of picture: 11018KT 4500 BR BKN008 03/02 Q1000 What I like the most in the newer FlightGear versions is the "World Scenery 2.0": OpenStreetMap vector data, and all the nice details for VFR pilots. I'm not talking about New-York or San-Fransico. I can easily find my small village in France, all the main roads, the railways, the rivers, the forests. Now even the mesh is great. X-Plane has a lot more roads and more details for the rivers, coastlines, but FlightGear has very important landmarks like cooling towers, wind turbines... So both did a great job. I also love the "--enable-rembrandt" option (cockpit shadows are always looking awesome), but even with FXAA enabled, it doesn't draw nice edges like MSAA. It's not a problem when using the sim (I'm always moving my head and zooming in and out), but it's a problem for my screen shots. Georges - OpenStreetMap - Ubuntu GNU/Linux -
