Running multiple FS9.CFG files

Recommended Posts

Guest Dakota

I just a got a CH throttle quadrant and have set it up to run directly with out the CH CMS. I see in the FSUIPC manual it explains how to do multiple FS9.CFG files to run different configuration set ups. I want to be able to choose single, twin, three or four engine planes with different configurations for the throttle. Is anyone doing this? Is there a better way to set up different throttle configurations with out having to use the CH software?

It's simpler than getting out of bed in the morning!1) Make a copy of fs9.exe and rename it something like: FourEngine_fs9.exe2) Make a copy of fs9.cfg and rename it to match: FourEngine_fs9.cfg3) Right-click on your FS9 Desktop Shortcut and paste a new copy. Right-click on the copy and edit the Properties to point to the FourEngine_fs9.exe, and give a new name to the Icon.4) Repeat as need for as many different configurations as you want.5) Launch FS9 with each of your new Desktop Shortcuts and make your configuration changes for the peripheral hardware.Problem solved! Go fly! ;)

Wow, thanks Bill. That is much easier than the bat files that I've been using to start one instance of FS9.exe with multiple config files. R-
