Trim behaviour C195

Recommended Posts

Apart from a small mention in another thread/forum somewhere(can't remember where) nothing has been mentioned of the C195's propensity for needing pretty much full nose down trim in order to fly level. I've had a look at the aircraft.cfg and couldn't see anything that stuck out like a sore thumb. But what do I know!

So the questions are:

1. Is this something that Alabeo are aware of?

2. Will something be done to sort it out?

3. Is this behaviour normal/correct?

3. If 'Yes' to 3, ignore 1 and 2.

Be nice, Ron

How long does it take for 'smug' to wear off after buying an EV?

I think I've figured it out.

Hey Ron!

Please let me know (pretty please) what you worked out?  I have found the same issue!!  S*#T load of nose down trim to keep her level.....

Kind regards.

Ahah! Someone IS interested in my theory.

I think Alabeo have simply got the animation of the trim wheel wrong. I found out that if you trim it for take off about 4 divisions down from maximum, then ignore it's position it feels right. First, it doesn't leap off the runway within 20 yards and also it does behave like a 'homesick angel'. nose down trim continues to work after you've hit the animation's buffers.

I like this plane more and more and I've learnt to accept the anomaly

Hey Ron.      Will you explain in a little more detail what you mean by '4 divisions down from max"  .

             Thanks    Stoney.

That's not Stoney of LFS fame is it?

To tell the truth I haven't flown the C195 for yonks.  B)

I probably meant trim wheel indicator should be four sections down from maximum up (or could be down) trim. I'll have to go fly it again to refresh what is left of my memory!

Experiment. Make like a test pilot, no harm will come to you. :P
