What Programs Are Only Necessary on Startup of Win7?

Recommended Posts

Hmmm yea lets take another look.

You don't need a mouse to run FSX.

You don't need anti-virus to run FSX.

You don't need Microsoft Windows Operating System "Sidebar" to run FSX.

Do you fly FSX without a mouse?

Is you computer connected to the Internet without AV?

I thought NickN had a list of everything you should disable.

I most certainly do use the mouse in FSX.

And AV realtime scanning can be configured to exclude flightsim-related files.

Much safer to have the AV software running, in case you're bored in cruise and want to check the latest and greatest threads on AVSIM ... or some online approach charts ... or download updated real weather ... or (tbc)   B)

You'd have to be crazy to disable antivirus in an attempt to get more frames.

It's not for frames gain. But antivirus can slowdown FS in terms of stuttering in case it starts to automatically scan. Just makes sence.

Tushka,

Set your Scanning schedule to a time when you are not using FSX and also exclude the FSX directory from the Real-Time scanning.

Of course, I have already done that, in fact, i stopped using anti viruses a little after. The advices I was giving is just a bit... Universal, you never know how something else is having their machine set up like.

Hmmm, IntelliPoint, yeah you're right, don't need my mouse to run FS.

Sorry if I missed another clear response to this.  Intellipoint is NOT your mouse driver.  It is only an application that allows you to customize your mouse related settings, such as mouse pointer style, speed and acceleration of pointer movement, ghosting as you move your mouse, ability to override default mouse button settings, etc.  You can easily fly FSX with the default mouse settings in the mouse driver, which is specific to the mouse you are using.
