01APR14 - Quick PMDG 777 SP1 Update

Recommended Posts

Here are my thoughts:

there is no APFL

the altitude is suitable for precipitation

the weather radar show in the pfd (wxr)

the drawing of the WXR looks a bit odd to me (I've seen WXR in action live)

when captain Randazzo wrote it, I bet he noticed the date! he could have written guys this is for real! but he did not.

so all in all I think its April foll's joke. I wish and hope it isn't but...

Hilarious. Dude, all in all I think you might be right.  :rolleyes:

I think they forgot to mention the free interface cable for use with the new PMDG full motion hydraulic platform to be released with SP1.

More popcorn anyone?

Knew it was an April Fool's joke when he said we would see the SP1 soon.

It must be true because Rob wouldn't lie...

But it's April fools day... so it must be false...

But it could be possible because of ASN...

Norman, coordinate...

What a pity it's an April Fools post and not a real update...

I'm not at all bothered as I couldn't care less about weather radar. Probably wouldn't use it anyway. :lol:

Got it - however this 'joke' is not consistent with the stance normally taken towards the innocent 'newbies' who come to the forum asking about the WX radar feature.

ASN still has to make some advances. I haven't seen the "tilt" function...

But its not recomended to fly with ASN without a WX radar.

If it is, they just lost my purchase of the 300ER given the lack of updates or a SP1 patch.  Perhaps they are just a bit too clever for their own good sometimes.

That's coming from an owner of FS9 B73, B74, FSX J41, B73 and B77L!!

I'll second this...if nothing more than an April fools joke, it's slapping their customers in the face.  I could find it funny if they've communicated better about SP1 which has been "just around the corner" for quite a number of weeks now, but we never get the updates we're told will come.

Still waiting for the SP2 update to the NGX.  And communication here is generally terse remarks from Tabs that are usually confrontational and shed little light on much of anything but his attitude.

I've been well and truly had. Well played RSR, well played sir. Not many manage to totally stitch me up like a kipper but it's been done.

Suppose I'll have to buy the 777 now......

APFL=April Fool?

0401=April Fool?

Wasted my precious time mulling this so I guess it worked.

Does not detract in any way from the near perfect addon the 777 already is.

Seriously though I would like a real update for the NGX (time compression)
