April 4, 201412 yr Commercial Member This is the most important question. All that WX, ACARS stuff is all very nice, but having that goat inside the aircraft during a long haul would really be the cherry on top :-) I bought Goat Simulator earlier this week - I haven't laughed that hard in a really long time. April 4, 201412 yr Good news for OPUS users. Stephen is putting together a weather radar to be submitted to PMDG as of now. Certainly encouraging... "Just thought I should let you know I have already added the Enable Live Weather Radar option and I am already extracting and processing the simulator's Cloud Density data within OpusFSX.I am currently working on the processing software for this data to produce our highly detailed cloud density map for use by Weather Radars (e.g. the PMDG 777) which also takes into account the radar's look down angle. It also looks like I am going to be able to couple this data with the current OpusFSX weather map on a cell by cell basis. All looks very promising for those who want a Weather Radar facility.Stephen " ZORAN
April 4, 201412 yr Awesome support as always Opus. http://fs2crew.com/banners/Banner_FS2Crew_MJC_Supporter.png Wayne HART
April 4, 201412 yr Yeah, but... Weather radar, also called weather surveillance radar (WSR) and Doppler weather radar, is a type of radar used to locate precipitation, calculate its motion, and estimate its type (rain, snow, hail etc.). Modern weather radars are mostly pulse-Doppler radars, capable of detecting the motion of rain droplets in addition to the intensity of the precipitation. Both types of data can be analyzed to determine the structure of storms and their potential to cause severe weather. ...we don't need clouds, we need water and ice. April 4, 201412 yr I'd imagine that's why he talks about a cloud density map, and not a cloud map. Also, it's a bonus feature, nobody's holding a gun against your head, and making you buy ASN. If you have it, great. If you don't, it really is well worth considering! Name available upon request
April 4, 201412 yr I am hopeful that PMDG will bring the WX Radar to their 737NGX in the future. In the meantime those who own a ifly737NG can read this post. They have already integrated it with ASN. http://www.hifitechinc.com/news/74-ifly-737-asn-radar Ammar Khan
April 4, 201412 yr ASN is not perfect, and if there is a problem, and I need to access ASN to re set the weather Thought that all weather addons are the same which ever you use you still got to access them wether being asn, rex, or opus so cant see you issue here using asn I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg
April 4, 201412 yr All weather addons are far from the same, there's some very significant differences between the lot of them, in terms of what goes on behind the scenes. Name available upon request
April 4, 201412 yr Hi, I thought this is worth sharing. Found it while I was learning about weather radar operation... Part 1: Part 2: Any comment on the PWS function? Will it be implemented? Enjoy Frederik FREDERIK STEINER

April 4, 201412 yr (...) Any comment on the PWS function? Will it be implemented? Enjoy Frederik That's actually a must with ASN! What happened to AVSIM
April 4, 201412 yr Hi folks! I just read this great news on my smart phone today... Thank you PMDG for this wonderful innovation!!! We all waited so long for that... Now, that there is a WXR in PMDG's products in cooperation with HiFi's "ASN" and that there will be PMDG's products available inside Lockheed Martin's "Prepar3d", I am really thankful for this truly historic "change of destiny" for FS. If you like, take a look... on ASN+PMDG, september 18th 2013: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/421144-can-pmdg-work-with-hifi-to-bring-us-a-working-weather-radar/page-3#entry2800496 or november 25th 2013: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/421144-can-pmdg-work-with-hifi-to-bring-us-a-working-weather-radar/page-4#entry2859303 or on "chances are" for PMDG & P3D (Nov, 24th 2013): http://forum.avsim.net/topic/426851-lockheed-answers-community-questions/page-2#entry2858499 or on "make P3D also entertainment", because otherwise PMDG won't go for P3D (Nov 6th, 2013): http://forum.avsim.net/topic/425348-new-petition-against-microsoft/page-2#entry2843720 This is all less than half a year ago. But actually I always "knew" that it would come out like that B) Probably I could apply for a job as a fortune-teller, but honestly: in the end all this were self-fulfilling prophecies, because otherwise every developer would have gone lost in their own one-way-streets... Greetings, Claus BTW: Now, that Mr. Zuckerberg has bought Oculus Rift, I am really looking forward to fly the T7 and NGX inside P3D using Oculus Rift and being totally "VR-ed"... Most probably I would also try the 747v2! Claus KUEPPER
April 5, 201412 yr Now this looks like buying ASN the minute it was out was a wise investment... HiFi is taking the lead again (sorry Opus, I still love you!). Regards, Martin Martinov / VATSIM 1207931
April 5, 201412 yr great news... Hopefully the 773ER will be released soon, i´m eager to see how far the 747 v2 has progressed during the last couple of months As nice as the 777 is, but what i am really waiting for is a new version of the 747. It is simply the most beautiful aircraft in the skies. regards, Alexander Marx
