Leaning the fuel flow

Recommended Posts

From the aircrafts I've been flying so far, I;m  used to lean the fuel flow on the fuel flow meter. However, in the C90B the mixture-, or condition lever doesn't seem to have any effect on this gauge.

How do I know the right setting for this lever?

Cheers!

The fuel flow in a turboprop is controlled more by the power setting than the mixture/condition lever. Never have flown a real turboprop, the condition lever is mainly used at start-up and ground idle operations. When you are ready to takeoff, you then place it into the flight idle range, ( I think that is the correct term) and you use the power levers to control the torque setting (how much fuel is going through the engine).

Hope this helps.

That's a very clear explanation, Thanks a lot, Terry! :D
