FS X, three monitors and Matrox TripleHead2Go

Hello everybody, I'm from Poland.

I have laptop like this http://www.asus.com/ROG_ROG/ASUS_ROG_G750JH/specifications/

I have three monitors with HDMI output.

 

I want to play MS FS X with views like this http://www.matrox.com/graphics/surroundgaming/en/games/supported/flight_simX/

 

Does anybody have Matrox TripleHead2Go?

Which version should I buy? http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/products/gxm/

What cables do I need to connect Matrox to my monitors?

Which maximum display resolution will I play?

Welcome to the forums.  I asked a professional computer wizard about doing this on my desktop machine that runs at 4.4 gigs with an GTX 770 video card.  He told me I would not like the lack of smoothness that such a setup would yield.  So, I gave up on the idea.  I hope that helps.

Bill that "professional" advice is total rubbish.

There are plenty of simmers here running three screens on less capable hardware than you have.

 

Running three screen off a laptop is a different story.

Three 22" with hdmi.

I run 3x 24" monitors off of my Nvidia GTX 780 in DX10 mode and overclocked the intel i7 to 4.5GHz...this is not a notebook by the way.

I run Active Sky Next, REX textures, payware airports, FTX Global + Vector + FS Global and the PMDG 737 NGX and depending on weather get anything between 18-30fps in virtual cockpit view. Outside view and depending how high I am flying up to 80fps.

Not sure what you will be able to achieve with that laptop. As far as I know, you can only squeeze out about 3.4GHz and that wont cut it for three monitors.

 

I have no experience with TripleHead2Go - as far as I know, its outdated from the aspect, that nowadays the more high-end graphics cards have enough outputs to run three and more monitors. All you need is the relevant cables and make sure you use the same monitors.

That laptop has quite a good video card (GTX 780M).

I see from the Matrox compatibility site that the older 680M could go to 5760x1080

(3x 1920x1080) with the TripleHead2Go Digital SE.

The 780M is not listed but should do the same.

You might be better off going to the Asus support forums for more information.

 

Have you thought about just plugging in a big TV instead of a triple screen setup?

That would certainly be simpler and get you much better frame rates.
