Considering upgrading my GTX 470 to GTX 580

Hi All,

I've had my GTX 470 for a couple of years now and it's been fantastic. Would I see a decent improvement by going to a 580?

TIA

Should do.

It must be, or refurbished or something because I tried to simply replace my GTX580 last November and I couldn't find one you could just buy outside of ebay or something. I bought the 770/4 Gb though for a fair amount less than I paid for the 580 back in 2011, it was on a black friday sale or something I think for $369 US. I'm glad I did it now with P3D2 and all but I wish I could have had a chance to try P3D2 with the 580 first to see if there was really that much improvement. I think the 580 caught me browsing the Prepar3D site a week before v2.0 was released and committed suicide to be honest.

The 770 did help in FSX somewhat but there really wasn't anything wrong with the 580, it was great, it ran hot though (like 90-95° C!), the 770 runs around 70-75 in P3D2 with all the sliders maxed.

If you are anywhere in Europe, I'm selling my GTX 580 Zotac if you want.
