Pilot head movement effect

Recommended Posts

Anyone know how to turn off the head movement effect under acceleration or g force, in the 777, or whether it is, indeed, possible, please?

I've searched the forum but had no results. Probably not using the right terminology. I turned this off in FSX on the default  aircraft a long time ago so can't remember where I did that.

I'd be grateful for any help.

If you turned it off for the default aircraft then it will be off for the 777 too. Same settings applies to all FSX aircraft.

As a reminder, the method to turn off FSX acceleration effects is as follows:

In Cameras.cfg change MomentumEffect from Yes to No

MomentumEffect = No

And in FSX.cfg, under the DynamicHeadMovement section, set all the constants to 0.

You will still be left with the head movement related to heading changes, this is an FSX bug and can't be eliminated as things are.

Thanks for your response Kevin, I'll check that out. Strange because before posting I had a brief flight in the VC of the default Baron and it definitely didn't have the effect.

You will hardly notice it in a small aircraft like the Baron. The effect becomes increasingly more noticeable the further the cockpit is from the aircraft centre of rotation. Try it in the default 737 or 747 and you should see it more clearly.

Well I tried the default 747 and that wasn't exhibiting the effect. Checked the camera.cfg file and fsx.cfg file and both were correct for turning the effect off.

Then I got back in the 777 and without having done anything, it is no longer exhibiting the effect. A total mystery.

Anyway, thanks for your help.

As Kevin said, the residual effect is still present, even with all momentum lines turned off in both *.cfg's. If you want to check it properly, make your aircraft spin very fast using the Slew function.

Thanks Jefferson. As long as it's not obvious in normal operation I'm not bothered. :smile:
