Full autoland disaster

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I fly an approach into YSSY sydney, I have done this autoland hundreds of times, I know I have everything set right, eg course, hgs, ils frequency, the aircraft does everything perfect until 500 ft, the aircraft still says land 3, flare and everything but then the nose moves down and it goes into a steep descent and then the autopilot disconnects. This only happens at sydney airports 16L and 16R and it's only being doing it for a few days. I did a full reinstall but still no luck. Help

Hi, cooperwarner8,

Any chance you installed new YSSY scenery or an AFCAD?  Also, some people have reported aircraft seeming to hit invisible objects on final or bouncing on runways (despite smooth landings) with high mesh settings.  Just some thoughts.

Yes I did put a new AFCAD in a while ago and it worked for a while but then it stopped working so I removed it and did a full reinstall of fsx and pmdg and I didn't put the AFCAD back, and it still crashed

Hi, cooperwarner8,

You didn't say anything about mesh or scenery. How high is your mesh setting, and more generally how high are your scenery settings? Also, it would be helpful to give your system specs.

Does your problem look like the ones described in this thread?

http://forum.avsim.net/topic/436700-pmdg-777-ksfo-28l-threshhold-problem/

Are you absolutely sure you don't have an AFCAD somewhere that could be causing the problem? Are you back at default scenery?

Mesh complexity- 60

Mesh resolution 10m

Texture resolution 7cm

Sceney complexity- dense

I have triple checked about the AFCAD, I completely removed the file from my computer to be sure.

Thanks for the responses :)

Coincidence I'm sure, but in the last few days my prop planes (Carenado C208, 337) have started to pitch down randomly as well - not when on autopilot though, and not all the time.  Haven't been able to dial in on the source yet. Weather = Opus
